Fundamentals Of Internet
Internet Addresses
It is extremely difficult to remember a particular computer by its IP address. Each computer is given a literal address to solve this problem. This process is called 'Domain Name System- DNS'. DNS is a systematic hierarchical system for naming a computer. The Domain Name System finds a numeric address based on a literal address.
The domain name is determined by the type of system or the geographical location of the commuter. For example, the address saket@vsnl.net.in belongs to a user named 'saket' whose computer is located in vsnl.net India (in). The @ at) sign is used to connect the user and the domain name. Examples of some common domain names are as follows:

World Wide Web - www
The architectural structure designed to obtain information through the Internet is called the World Wide Web (www or w3). The World Wide Web has been dubbed the World Wide Web - a network of cutters scattered around the world, as many of the world's cutters combine to form a web-like structure. The World Wide Web is a set of interconnected electronic documents scattered throughout the Internet. www displays information through text, as well as pictures, animations, sounds, hyperlinks, etc. Team Bors Ltd. introduced the World Wide Web in a laboratory called CERN in Geneva for physics research work. Soon the design, designed solely for the research of scientists, attracted the general public to the Internet. Www is determined by web technology and managed by an international organization called W3C (World Wide Web Consortium).
Browser is a software program required to use Internet access.
This is called a web browser. Documents on the Internet require a web browser to open and view on a personal commuter, also known as a 'web client'. The browser accepts requests made by the user in URL form and sends them to the appropriate server on the Internet. The browser also has the task of interpreting the information received from the server and displaying it on the user's computer. The information can be retrieved from any corner of www by the browser and displayed on the computer. Computer - The world's first browser Lynx was created, which could only display text. Easy pointing and clicking actions can then be performed using the Mosaic browser. In addition to text currently available, the browser also has the facility to send e-mails with features like pictures, multimedia (animation, sound), hyperlinks etc. Examples of well-known web browsers are Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera, MSN, etc.
Webpage / Website
Documents on the Internet are called webpages. In addition to text, a webpage can store many types of information such as pictures, diagrams, movies, animations, sounds, hyperlinks, etc. A set of webpages is called a website. A website has more than one webpage. From a webpage of the website.
Modem
Modem 'Modem' is a compound term made up of two words - Modulator and Demodula tor - a computer that can save, display or analyze information in digital form. . Many of the tools used to transmit information from one place to another via the Internet can transmit information in 'analog' form. E.g., a computer used by the user and If a telephone line is used to exchange information between a repository-webserver, the telephone line is only capable of carrying an analog type of signal. This situation requires a tool that can convert the digital information in the computer to analog form. A device that converts digital information in a computer into an analog signal that can be transmitted by a telephone cable is called a 'modem'. This process is called "modulation". The speed at which the modem transmits data is measured by the KBPS (Kilo bits per second) unit. Can be fitted inside a couture cabinet. There is an internal modem and an external modem that can be placed outside the computer cabinet. In addition, state-of-the-art technology has made wireless mods available, allowing mobile devices to connect to the Internet.
